The GD Collection - Vol. 2 - Sega

Welcome to Vol. 2 of my video game system collection posts.

Sega:

Master System - Bought this system off ebay with a few games. Has some problems actually playing games and I haven't really found the time to mess around with this to see if I could get it working.

Genesis - First system I ever owned. I bought this system from Montgomery Wards using the money I earned from my paper route. It came with one controller and the Sonic the Hedgehog game.

Game Gear - This is another system I purchased with my paper route money. I remember my mom taking me to Best Buy because I wanted to buy this. First game I had for this system was Street Fighter 2. Later I bought what has to be the coolest accessory, the TV Tuner. That's pretty much all I use this for now, and that's not even that often. Handy during severe weather though.

Sega CD - Attaches to the Genesis. I think I bought this at Toys R Us when it was on clearance. I know I got a ton of super cheap games there when they were clearing out their inventory.

Nomad - Portable Genesis system but not the greatest system I've seen. It's really pretty large and the battery compartment, which I don't own, was sold separately. Some games, in particular Mortal Kombat, don't seem to run correctly on this system. Others, like Sonic, seem to run fine.

Saturn - This one I got less than a year ago off ebay. I like this system overall but I only have 3 games for it.

Dreamcast - This was a birthday present from my brother because I kept playing with his. I have a lot of games for this system because they went on clearance at a lot of places around town. I can still find cheap games for this system at Toys R Us.

Video Games - The GD Collection - Vol. 1 - Nintendo

So I was reading online all the buzz about this new handheld game system that Nintendo is hyping prior to E3 this year and that made me decide to do this post about my video game collection. Or obsession, depending on who you ask. So without further ado, GD's Video Game Collection and How it Came to be:

Nintendo:
NES - Purchased from some punk kid off the Internet from a newsgroup. Almost didn't get the system in the end but luckily for me the kids dad found out that he hadn't sent it to me yet and got it on it's way. This had been repaired but still is a bit finicky when loading games. I have many games that I aquired over the years from ebay and a bunch I bought from FJ.

SNES- Bought this on cleareance at Target and never really played it. I have only 2 or 3 games so this is not my favorite game system. I may go back and buy some of the better games off ebay in the future.

N64 - Aquired in a trade from Matt for an original Optimus Prime I purchased off ebay. System came with some games and I aquired a few from ebay and Joey. I also purchased some acessories from varies stores and online.

Gamecube - Purchased new from Shopko on a near impulse. First of the current generation of systems that I owned. I buy the games for this system new and I also have the gameboy player.

Gameboy (old skool) - Good old greenie. I bought this off ebay for hardly any money a few years ago. It's currently somewhere at my parent's house and can be fun to play original tetris from time to time.

Gameboy Pocket - Bought this on clearence from ShopKo. Caused an unhealthy obsession with the game Pokemon Red but I was not the only one. *pts to Susan*

Gameboy Color - Also bought on clearence from ShopKo well after I owned the GBA. I felt it was necessary to complete the collection.

Gameboy Advance - This was preordered from Walmart.com and arrived not long after the release. This was a nice addition to the collection.

Gameboy Advance SP - This was purchased on the day of release from ShopKo. I had only intended to look at it but after I picked it up, I knew it was coming home with me. I love this system best of all.

Virtual Boy - I got this on clearence at Target. I like this system because it's so crazy and unique. Only on the market for a year this was really good for giving headaches. The graphics are poor but sometimes the game play is alright. I'm glad that I own this but I hardly ever play with it.

Tennis Anyone?

Went to ST tonight with C-bob and angered my elbow again. Went to the doctor and he said it was some medical term, also known as tennis elbow. He gave me some drugs and told me to rest for 10-14 days. *sigh*

I'm gonna email my manager tomorrow and let him know what's up and see what I can do for them team in the mean time.

I'm tired.

Hola

Today is Sunday which means tomorrow is Monday and another day of work. At least I can look forward to going to ST and getting some extra practice in. That should be relaxing and benefitial. It's not a lesson though, we are just going to use the cage.

Work has been, interesting, lately. Things don't seem to be going the way I want and at times it feels like I should just give up and just do what I'm told to do and let things alone. I can't do that though, because that's just not me. I have to keep trying no matter how many times I'm turned down or how many times I fail. Change is not a bad thing people, it's time that someone opens their eyes and see this.

Remember when I posted a few days ago about us getting new furniture in the office? Everyone else approved it except the top lady that said no. I have no idea why though. I mean there's this money that has to be spent by the end of April and no one else has any good ideas for spending it. It's even our departments funds but I guess she gets the final say on everything. Ugh, it makes me miss working at CBA a little because at least there people were willing to support innovation. This goes far beyond the furniture, there are many other things that have happened but I don't want to mention everything in such a public forum. I probably have said more than I should have already but whatever, it's not like I'm using names.

I have practice today at 5 so that's exciting. I'm hoping that this will give me a good idea of what position I am going to be playing.

Also I have been reading more about sports psychology and I think it's a field of study and work I could really get into. Time to get that plan into implementation.
