Friday!

Work was a bit more stressful today than I would have liked. I won't comment on much but it's worth noting that it started with a leak in the ceiling. When I got to work the door was propped open and water was falling from the ceiling into a bucket. Apparently a pipe in the ceiling started leaking at an elbow joint. This was right over the main entrance door so it was decided to use the door to my office as a temporary entry until the problem was handled. This means everyone had to come in and out of the full office by walking through my office, it was, fun.

Ended up going out to dinner with Sheri and that was a lot of fun. We ate at Runza and then went over to Target to goof off. I ended up buying a new Yankees cap that's really cool. I couldn't find an image of it online but it's grey and blue and looks really sweet. We played with the toys and looked at a lot of stuff, it was fun.

I've been watching some taped TV tonight and tomorrow I'm going to do laundry. I have an exciting life, that's for sure.

I am thinking it may again be time for a site redesign. Nothing is setup yet, just the very basic brainstormed idea. We'll see if I can find the time to actually work on that.

Loaner

I had to stop on my way home from work at the ye olde Alltel customer center to complain about my cell phone no longer charging. The problem was not with the battery but rather with the connection on the bottom of the phone. So they had to issue me a loaner phone until mine is fixed. The great thing was that my name is not on the account, it's a shared plan, so they had to call my mom and get her ok to add me to the account so I could sign for my loaner phone. I will be happy when my phone is fixed and back to me.

So how is everyone else doing?

Practice!

Tonight's practice was really awesome. When I got there only about 4 or 5 of the guys were around and the coach said hi to me and talked to me some. He said that he was going to work with the pitchers mainly tonight but that he wanted to talk to me and work with me for a little bit after I was warmed up. He told me that I was really good at catching the ball and that we needed to work on my ball speed as far as throwing. He showed me how to do a few things and then had me do a bunch of grounders to get a rhythm going. He said that I had a lot of potential. That was good that he said so because I really needed to hear it.

After that we did more fielding drills. We started out doing some soft grounders without our gloves which some people were complaining about but did anyway. It was pretty funny. After that we did more grounders and some popups and such. I also got to get a little hitting in off the iron mike but our time ran out before I got a full bucket in.

We have our next practice on Sunday at an actual baseball diamond, so that will be a nice change. I'm excited to see all the things I can learn while playing.

Oh and I really need to get another glove because these weekly bruisings to my fingers just aren't working out well for me. Maybe tomorrow I will check out Kep over my lunch hour. Mmm.. baseball gloves.

Later cheetos!

Stuff That Happens

So today at work was interesting, if not a big, odd. Got a final estimate for the new furniture for my office, got that approved and it's in the ordering stage as we speak. Anyone that knows the University inner workings at all know that this was equivalent to a modern miracle. But then at the meeting my supervisor wanted to purchase a replacement 80-gig harddrive for our image backup system and was told to wait until next year. Next year?? To back up our images?? Then it was suggested that we burn them all to CD. Oy.

Then in the afternoon we lost a pen drive because someone left it upstairs on a desk for less than 5 minutes. Someone must have seen it and pocketed it. Jerks. Problem is that I had borrowed said pen drive from my supervisor with the requirement that I return it. So I got to go tell him that it was gone. He was not having a good day.

So after work I stopped at Target to get some essentials and ended up picking up David Bowe's Greatest Hits CD. If you like Bowe, then you should definitely check out this CD, very good.

I have practice at 7:30, so at least I have that to look forward to, I suppose. I think it will be fine; I'm just a little tired. More Later.

Duck

So it's not unusual to see flocks of geese fly over the apartment building, it happens all the time. In fact about a week ago I saw what had to have been close to 250 geese fly over head, honking away. This morning though, as I was getting my car ready to leave for work, I heard this distinct quacking sound not too far from where I was standing. I turned around just in time to see a duck take flight and fly up past the apartment complex. What a duck was doing hanging out in a parking lot, I will never know. It did make for something interesting to see in the morning though. I have to say that was my first official duck sighting since living in my apartment.

The Who, That's Who

Took me this long to figure out that it was The Who that sang "Behind Blue Eyes" I found it on an old CD of MP3s I have. I'm not sure if this is one that I downloaded from Napster or one that Matt gave me, but either way, it's a good song.

I got groceries tonight and picked up a package from my parent's house. I bought a Neo Geo Pocket Color and a couple of games. It's a pretty cool little game system; I just need more games for it now.

My name was in the paper, sort of, this weekend and in the little Sports Around Town thing you can get free at the supermarket. It's just a little blurb about the LABL draft but it lists everyone that was drafted.

I should really get to bed since I have to get up in the morning. Hopefully tomorrow morning I won't shut the alarm off and go back to bed. I'm not sure how I did it, but I still woke up in time to get to work just fine.

I'm taking the afternoon of the 16th off work to go watch the Husker baseball team's season opener at Haymarket Park. It should be a lot of fun and the weather so far sounds like it will be perfect. The game is at 2:05PM for anyone that's interested. The team is doing pretty well this year so come out and show your support. Go Huskers!

Post

This is a post.

I have nothing to really say.

Today is Monday and it's nice outside but windy.

Baseball is the greatest sport ever.
