Hitting

So I went back to hitting tonight and it went pretty well. My instructor said we have it narrowed down to two problems now that need working on. Getting my back foot to "squish the bug" and keeping my weight balanced. I didn't do very well with my fielding tonight but that was mainly because I was tired from hitting. He wanted me to do this foot work thing and I just couldn't get it figured out. My throws were all pretty off and I just wasn't in good form for that. It's ok though, I'm going back on Monday and will hopefully do more fielding things.

On another note, I think my neighbor on the corner is moving out. It's either that or they are stealing everything she owns. I just wonder why they started doing this at this time of night and in this cold weather. They are dragging stuff down the stairs past my window and being noisy but not horrible.

Well I'm really tired so I might just call it a night. Got a few things to do tomorrow and what not. It's supposed to snow again this weekend, which may be why the moving is being done now. I have heard predictions of up to 10 more inches of snow. That would be on top of the 12 inches we got last week that hasn't gone anywhere. Oy.

I'm Alive

Wow, a whole day with no post. Crazy.

Yea, I'm doing something I told myself I wouldn't do, I'm doing a post at work. I'm looking at this as my break time though. The office is really quiet and cold today. There are only 3 of us here when normally there would be 7. One guy is coming in at 1 though.

What's great though is that with so many people gone, it's technically down to me as the backup person to some things. Since I haven't been here more than 2 weeks, luckily there are a couple other people here to help out in case there's something I don't know how to do or whatever. Happily, nothing has even happened really, outside a printer in the lab acting up, which is my job to fix anyway.

I made some CDs this morning to archive some files and that's about it.

I am happy to report that one of my favorite Saltdogs, Ian Church, was signed today. (Yes, it's getting closer and closer to baseball season, I can feel it.)

Oh yea and it's really cold outside too. Zero degrees right now with a windchill of -12. It's been like this for days though, so I'm actually getting used to it. Still sucks, but it's becoming more of a norm. It might snow again this weekend but I really hope it doesn't.

Alright, breaks over, back to work. Later all!

Car is Free

Yep, my car is unburied and usable again. The roads are still bad in places but it's better than it was.

So I got picked up from work to go get a shovel so I could dig out. When I left for the bus this morning, the snow was still completely burying my car and I dreaded getting home today to scoop it out.

So we are at Menard's and finally find the shovels. I picked one out, bought it and as we were walking back to the car I said, "Wouldn't that be great if we get there and someone had already scooped out the cars? Like that would ever happen." We got home, went around back and viola, it had been cleaned out. There was some work left to get all of the car unburied and the snow off it but the major work was already done. Got the car cleaned off, let it run a bit and even moved it out of the spot and back in. I am planning on driving tomorrow.

It's supposed to snow more this weekend though. What's with this weather? It's like getting 4 years worth of snow in one season. Ugh. Snow.

Blogger

I'm having problems with blogger so I'm hoping this post will fix it.

I'm getting picked up from work tomorrow with the goal of getting me a shovel so I can get to work on getting the car out. I have a lesson on Friday that I really don't want to have to miss. I can't see how I'm going to be getting there tomorrow and I don't want to go on Thursday if I'm going to just be coming in on Friday.

SNOW - the four letter word

I really don't like snow right now. And I love snow normally. But this bastard snow has trapped my car and I don't see a lot of hope for it going anywhere soon. I guess it just proves that stupid boy scout saying about being prepared. I don't own a shovel nor do I seem able to acquire a shovel. Not that it really matters anyway when there's at least a foot and a half of snow surrounding your car and no where to really put it, without a lot of effort.

At least the bus can get me to work, but that's about it. I really feel trapped here. I also can't get to ST which is really sad to me.

I also wish my digi cam had batteries because I am missing out on some good pictures. Maybe I can figure something out because you guys really need to see this, I think.

Anyway, enough of my rant. I'm home and starting to warm up now so the rage is subsiding a bit. I think I'll go watch the news and try to warm up more.

Oh yea, it's supposed to snow more on Thursday! Isn't that fantastic!! Plus the temperature isn't supposed to go over 20 for the rest of the week if not longer!! Why do I continue to live here??

Bored

So now I'm sitting here kind of bored mainly because the snow has me trapped in the apartment. It's not like I don't have things I need to do or should do, it's just the idea that I can't really go anywhere that annoys me.

Can't get to ST tonight so I'm not sure how that's going to affect my next lessons and what not. I'd need to get in there either tomorrow or at least by wednesday, otherwise just have to forget it and do it after the tryout. I was looking forward to going, but such is life, right?

Why I Like Snow

I don't have to go to work!

This will make my second week another 4 day week. I think I can handle that just fine. It's horrible enough outside today to close just about everything in town. This is one nice thing about working for a University. From what the news has been saying, they made the right decision about today.

This is good because it means I can get some cleaning done, get the laundry put away and then play video games. I could go back to sleep but I'm too awake now to do that. I pretty much started the day expecting to go to work, so this was a nice surprise. Woo.

Hope those of you that have to go out into this stuff stay safe!

Site Down

For some unknown to me reason, my site has been down all morning, but it seems to be fixed now. Not that there's really anything important on this site, it's still annoying when it's not up and running like it should be.

So yesterday I spent the day with Susan and Nick. We did some shopping, ate and saw a movie. We went and saw Peter Pan which was actually a lot better than I was expecting. It follows really closely to the story in the book and it's not really cheesy sappy like the Disney version. There were funny parts and some nice action scenes. I'm actually glad I went because I really did enjoy the movie.

Nothing too exciting going on today. There was freezing rain earlier but now it's snowing. I went to Walgreen's to get detergent so I can do laundry. If I've not mentioned it before, I hate doing laundry. Anyway, laundry is under way and I'm thinking about what I want for lunch.

I have to get in some practice this afternoon with both fielding and hitting. I think I'm going to bring my tee into the apartment and hit rolled socks off it. I need to work some on my mechanics and what not.

Alright, that's good enough for a post. Laterz!
