Help My Friend!

My friend Sheri is doing a survey of people in the nursing industry for her class, so if any of you know someone in that field, could you please pass this link on to them?

She would really appricate it.

Lessons

I had another hitting/fielding lesson tonight at ST. It went really well to be perfectly honest. I got in some really good, powerful hits and it was awesome. Something clicked in my brain last night and this morning and it seems to be coming together now. I got a bit tired near the end though and started slipping, but it's just something that will come with more and more practice. Then I worked on outfield stuff with BW and that was really awesome. He showed me how to field a grounder, how to place my feet and how to follow through for the throw. We did a throwing drill for awhile and the first one I through went way up through the rafters and hit the wall near the ceiling. He said he's never had anyone throw it there before. It was really quite funny. A few of my other throws went kind of high but I was able to get a good percentage on target. He gave me something to work on at home as did JP with hitting. I also need to work on my overall physical fitness and stamina, that will be the ticket to becoming really good at this. I belong to the Rec Center at work now and plan to do this thing called Super Circuit. It's circuit training with stations that are both weight and cardio. I'm planning on trying to get in for an orientation either tomorrow or Sunday. Once I do the orientation I can go in to do it whenever I want, as long as it's open. I figure a couple times after work a week to start will be good.

Well now I'm pretty hungry but unsure what I want to eat. I'm also a little sore and tired but in a good way. I love baseball, yes I do.

Wonderful World of Windows

So MercX boots fine with my 30 gig drive set up with a base install of XP so that makes me believe that the problem is the 80 gig drive. Problem is that I never activated WinXP on that drive and I can't seem to get in contact with the activation server. I'd call but I'm not sure I can find the CD-key. It's either on my desk or long gone in a fit of cleaning. Oh well, guess I'll worry about it some other time, when I have the time to worry about it.

22nd

Today is the 22nd and I don't know whether this matters much or not. I learned that the one guy I get along with really well in the office is trying to get this TBA position that would become like my "partner in crime." I really hope he gets it because we already work well together. Basically me and this TBA person become the Public Computer support team and we have students working under us and what not. He hasn't actually been in the office too long but currently he is a programmer of some type, I'm not really clear what his position is.

So anyway, it's the 22nd and I thought I had to comment about it. Is anything significant going to happen today? I have no idea. The days not over yet so I guess I just have to wait and see.

Oh and some people are encouraged by my like of shaking things up at work and others seem a bit, well, worried? Oh well, change is good when it is a change for the better. I fear the "way we've always done it."

Computers

Well MercX had a heartattack tonight and is not working at the present time. I am lucky in that I have a laptop that I can use but I really prefer the desktop for most things. Also all my mp3s and other files are on that computer. It won't get past detecting the IDE drives and thus won't boot. I used to be able to get it to boot by hitting it but that doesn't even work now. Plus the last time it did boot it seized up in windows and stopped working. I worry that one of the harddrives is dying. I would prefer it if the 80 gig drive dies because all my stuff is stored on the 200 gig drive. If the big one goes I will be crestfallen.

So I may not be online as much as usual but that's mainly due to the fact that I don't leave the laptop on when I'm not actually using it. If you have anything important you need to tell me just email me. The job is going really well and I'm happy with it so far. Lots of projects coming my way and all that but I'm happier when I'm busy and it makes the day go faster.

I had another hitting lesson tonight and it went alright. We did a lot of soft toss and this drill C-bob calls the drill from hell. I think there are a lot of things I still need to work on but if I can just stay focused and healthy I can master this. I have another lesson on Friday and this will be a one hour lesson of hitting and fielding. I did about a half hour of fielding practice tonight in our laundry room and that actually worked out great. Thus I am really tired right now because I have been awake since 5:30 and plan to get up at 5:30 tomorrow. Oy, but I want to do this so I won't complain.

My apartment has become a chaotic mess because I haven't really been home long enough at any given time to do anything about it. After all my running around, visiting with friends and lessons by the time I get home all I want to do is crash. Oh well, I think it's just going to take some time for my body to adjust to this new schedule. I can get it all back into order over the weekend.

Hope you are all doing well! Later!

Tired

So I made it through the first day and all is well. The people are really cool and the job seems to be equal parts challenging and easy, so it balances out well. I don't even have to answer the phone if I don't want to, since I share it with two other guys. My office isn't too bad and I have a back door for escaping and what not. There's an In/Out board and a main area where everyone congregates and chats from time to time. Today it was at 3:50 as everyone waited for 4 to leave. I'm going to start going in at 7:30 and taking a half hour lunch so I can go home at 4. Well some nights I'll go to the Rec Center and then come home. I signed up for the Rec Center today and it was packed. I can't wait to get orientated on the Super Circuit so I can start doing that after work.

Went out to dinner with Nick and Susan. Tomorrow is Susan Bday and Nick's is on Friday(?). We went to one of those places where they cook at your table but the chef we had wasn't all that enthusiastic. We did have sushi though and it was good. Then went for dessert and shopping at ShopKo. I found a pair of shoes for $18 that will be perfect for the Rec.

Now kids, I am way tired so time to get going. Take care all!

Thoughts

So tomorrow is the big day. First day at the new job and I'm pretty excited. It should be great to meet my new co-workers, see my office, get all orientated and the likes. It will be weird to get up early in the morning, but I think I can handle it. It's for the best in the long run anyway. This job is going to be pivotal in helping me achieve the things I want in life. I'm going to go in there and work hard and do the best that I can. No excuses. It's time to grow up and be responsible for me and my life.

So on this last night of freedom I look back on the last 4 months and am extremely thankful I was able to have them. I did a lot of thinking and growing which helped me truly understand more about myself than I ever imagined possible. Now I can set my foot down on a new journey with the confidence in knowing I can be successful at anything I want to be.

Thank you to everyone for their support and encouragement through all of this. It has been greatly appreciated. You guys are all so awesome and I want you all to know it.

Sunday, it is Sunday, right?

Well I am back at my place again. Sheri and Tony got back safe and sound. They had a wonderful time in Arizona, from what I heard. Me and the puppies had a pretty good time too.

After the tryout yesterday I decided that I needed to move up my lessons and get going to get ready for February. So I went in today and ended up staying for an hour. I did a half hour of hitting, which consisted of tee work, soft toss and a lot of discussion about the tryouts and how we could approach the lessons. We got my next round of lessons figured out and I'm going to have to spend a lot of time working on this. I have 3 weeks and this has to be done with all seriousness. I really want to go to the tryout on the 7th and have shown a good amount of improvement. I'm really driven to get this going. My legs are sore and tired as are my arms but I'm totally down with this. I'm going to make it on a team, I just know it.

I have to do laundry tomorrow and get ready for work on Tuesday. What an odd statement really; I'm going to work on Tuesday. It feels really great though. I'm happy about it.
