Softball!
C-bob and I went to see the Huskers play softball today at Bowlin Field, which is in the same Haymarket complex that the Saltdogs play at. The baseball field itself is actually called Hawks Field so together the two fields form the Haymarket Park complex. It's been awhile since I've watched softball and having been used to watching baseball you can really see the deference. The major difference are the size of the ball and the size of the field. The playing field is a lot smaller in softball and to me that makes it more intense. The pitchers can still pitch really fast but they are a lot closer, so it seems even faster. We sat right behind home plate, near the front, and it was pretty sweet. The weather was a bit chilly though and we were in the shade the whole time.
Today is also a home football game so by getting to the field before 3 we were able to park for free. If you wanted to stay for the games after 3 though you had to pay for a $10 parking pass. They use that lot for football parking and they really want their money. Also, the Penn State fans had a planned pep rally using Haymarket Park so a lot of the people parked there were Penn State fans.
I took some pictures at the game but they still need editing with photoshop, which is not on this computer. I will figure out a way to post those later, but I didn't want to leave you photoless. Here is a picture of this crazy limo we saw driving to the softball game. On the back, please note the goal posts. It also had some kind of gold glinter to it.
