Ugh...

Editing pictures can get tiring... *yawn* Well they are edited and up on my webpage now, but not in presented in a good way. I am too tired to figure out a good page layout and design right now, but I will work on it. If you want to look at my pictures so far, just go to... Quarkstar Photo Directory The ones there are small versions, but if you want anything in a larger form, I can get it for you.. just let me know and I will upload it. I am working on making desktop images out of some of them, I already have one on my laptop that looks sweet.

I still need to get milk and go to the store, but I am tired.

Photo...graph...ie...

Today was a beautiful, sunny day, so I decided to get my self into gear and get some pictures taken. I took about 60 pictures at the arboretum on East Campus before the heat drove me home. I am thinking about going back out and getting some pics of the neighborhood and what not. What I really need is a good way to post and show off my photos. I think I can use my domain, www.quakrstar.com, but I am going to have to figure out a good photobook type page design.

Once I get these edited and processed, I will get them up somewhere for everyone to see. I will post a link to it all later, once I know what the link will be.

Excitement.....

I have new sheets on my bed!! WOOOOOOoooooooooooo.... go me!!

So yea, that is the excitement of my morning, I finally shed the deathly, but super comfy, flannel sheets for some more summer friendly, non-flannel sheets. I still prefer flannel, much softer and nicer, but too warm in the summer.

I figured that I should update this blog because I am trying to commit to doing it a lot. It will help out in my practice of writing and get me back into the groove and what not. Not sure what my plans for the day are, probably go get some milk, maybe some other food type things. I don't even know what I want to do about lunch. Oh well, I'll figure it out at some point.

The News...

So I figure now is the time to go ahead and post the news I have been hoarding for the past week and a half. Actually, most people already know this, but I have not officially posted it in the blog yet.

As of July 11th, I will no longer be the Help Desk Manager for CBA ITS. Yep, I quit my job. It was time for me to move on, away from something that felt only like a trap. I like the people there a lot, but the job was dragging me down and it was effecting all of my life. For once I am going to grab hold and do something for myself. I want to find my place in this world, and working at the help desk just isn't it. I will be staying around part-time for a bit after that, as a "consultant", to help them ease into the new team and what not. It will be a good way for me to get some extra cash while not having the commitment to a full time job.

So you may be wondering, what in the world are you going to do?? These plans are sketchy right now, but I have some ideas. I want to work on my writing and photography. I really want to give that a try and see where it leads. I want very much to write a book. I think without the commitment to work, I will have the energy and ambition to actually start writing. I am excited by the very idea of setting my own schedule and doing what I want, when I want to do it.

Added to my new life, as it will be, I am going to be taking some classes at the community college here and working on improving my photoshop, dreamweaver and other web based computer skills. I'd also like to really dig into this blogger thing and learn to really customize what I am working with.

I am totally excited by these changes, it's the kind of feeling I can't even find words to explain. It's like this feeling of being totally in control, of finally doing what I should have been doing for a long time. I will never regret the time I spent working in CBA, but the time has come to push on and try new things.

Dinner..

I decided to make the effort to make real food tonight. I went for something easy, breakfast burritos, but I had to hit the grocery store first. So I made a mad dash to the store, stopping first to pick up Guster's new album, Keep it Together. I also, finally, bought some non-flannel sheets for my bed. It's getting a bit too warm at night, such that I can't get any sleep.. no fun.

So back to the breakfast burritos... I cooked up some scrambie eggs with summer sausage (it is good, trust me), put that mixture into some tortillas, topped it with some cheese and microwaved it for 45 secs, just to get the cheese melted and the tortillas warmed up. Topped with a bit of sour cream, its all ready to go. You could probably add salsa to the sour cream topping, and that would make it more, tex-mexi I suppose. They are a little soggy, so if you really want to, warm the tortillas in another pan and then let the warm eggs melt the cheese. Mine got a little overboard with filling, so I'm eating it with a fork, but it's still good.

Another morning...

Again I am awake and ready to drag myself in to work and probably work. The time span is shortening quickly and for that I can breathe a sigh of relief. This is sort of a bittersweet moment in life, leaving some really cool people behind so I can grow further as a person. It is an important thing to do right now, just not the easiest always. My moods seem to be swinging wildly lately, so I appolgize to anyone in advance if I seem at all strange to them right now.

Morning

As I sit here and eat my muffin, I am hit by this overwhelming desire to crawl back into bed and sleep for another two hours. I am supposed to be at work at 7:30 but I just don't see this happening. For those you don't know yet, I am quitting my job. I have already told my boss and everyone my intentions and now it's just a matter of time before I will no longer have to go there any more. I like the people alright, but the job itself is slowly driving me insane. I went from having my own office to not even having my own desk or voice mail any more. Some of that was of my own choosing, but it's not working out for the best. The people there are great, for the most part, but I guess I feel underappreciated and completely unhappy.

So I decided that life is way too short to spend it being unhappy just because the job helps pay the bills. There has to be a way to survive without being miserable all the time. The biggest question I get out of my decision to leave is, "Where are you going?" The answer right now is, no where. I am going to sit around my apartment all day and do whatever I want. I have plans, I will share these at a later date, but I will be fine. I am not worried so others should not worry either.

Sounds as if the afternoon could possibly shape out to be a stormy one. Talks of heavy storms complete with large hail and lots of wind. Should be interesting if it comes in to frutation. Well, I should at least attempt to get to work semi-on time... even though I don't want to go. Peace.

New day, sun shinin'..

I don't have to work today, but I have a bunch of stuff I need to get done. I need to get my laundry done and get some stuff shipped off. I have been selling stuff on ebay and half.com lately, which is nice for the extra cash but sucks when you have to get everything packed up and shipped. Going to finally cancel cable today, not sure why I ever did have it. I don't watch TV and it's really expensive to keep paying for something I'm not going to use. I will probably pack up and clean out my old room at my parent's house today, or at least get started on that. My mom seems a little eager to get into that room and use it for something else. I suppose it makes sense, given it is their house. :)

I woke up at 9, almost on the dot, just as I had wanted to today, so that was pretty cool. Going to stop at Walgreen's and get packing materials and then head to the rent's and borrow their washing machine. Apparently the dryer for the building has not been working for the past couple of weeks, I'm pretty convinced that no one actually uses it enough for anyone to complain. There is a nice laundry mat not far from here, plus some of us have other people in town that let us use their washing machines, which is cool.

Well I suppose it's time for me to get down to business, at some point today I will post "The Big Update" about things in my life that are going to change soon and what not. I just need to get it written out the way I want before I post it, so stayed tuned!

Stormin..

Man, we got smacked by an awesome storm tonight. It was intense with lightning and thunder, plenty of rain and even a little hail thrown in for fun. No tornado warnings for us, but there were a few nearby. We didn't lose power here but there were some nice surges going through that made the lights flicker pretty good. C-bob and I inspected the perimeter of the building and found nothing to out of sorts, except that one of the dumpsters had been blown into the alley. We went down and moved it out of the way after our neighbor tried to pull into the alley but it was blocking the way. There was some pretty sweet looking lightning while we were outside, but it wasn't really raining by then. I was fully expecting a tornado warning but the system seemed to have died down a bit. There is still some lightning out there now, but nothing too intense. It will probably be around for awhile because the system itself is stalled out. This same storm has been dumping rain and whatnot on a county near by all night, I'd hate to be there right now. There is going to be some flooding as the rain was coming down quickly and hard.

Got a message from Skippy earlier, apparently his new apartment was leaking all over the place. Water was pouring from the ceiling and what not. They have only lived there like a month and stuff seems to be sucky at times. I'm just glad nothing started leaking here, that has to suck.

I've been listening to what C-bob (and most ppl) call "wussy music" lately, like Savage Garden and music similar to that. I am not sure why, but I like listening to that sometimes, it just fits at times.

The rents took me out for dinner tonight at The Rib Ranch, a local bbq place that was really pretty good. If you are familiar with Famous Dave's, it's really similar to that. In fact, the owner wanted to open a Famous Dave's but they wouldn't let them, there is already another Famous Dave's here.

So Jax seems to think maybe it's not normal for me to want to be married in BagNSave, but I think it is a perfectly normal thing... well.. maybe I shouldn't share everything in the blog..... um.. forget you read that.

I have tomorrow off but I have a lot of things I need to get done, it should be an interesting day. Peace.

Woah... the blog...

So wow.. been awhile since I sat down and did some typing here. Probably time to get back to doin this. Got a few updates for y'all, but not gonna get them done tonight, too tired.

Went and saw the Hulk tonight, it was pretty good, has quite a bit of story to it plus some smashing stuff, so it's not bad. You can tell that it's CGI, so that can be a bet bothersome, depending on how you feel about CGI. Overall the movie was quite good, but I still choose Spiderman over the Hulk. Spiderman is the most awesomest super hero ever.

After the movie, had a shake at McDoanlds and then hooked up with Sheri, Tony and Liz at Champions where we went Cosmic Bowling.. wooo. They had been there awhile and had played a lot of the games, went minigolf, did the carts, etc. After bowling we hit Perkins for some late night munchies, and then I headed home. I tired. *yawn* All in all it was a good day.

Also, earlier today, I did some cleaning, so now the apartment is nice and squeaky clean. I like it that way.
