Scary...

Saw these at Target tonight... I'm scared....

Hi!

I'm home again.. for the time being... recap my day for you though.

So I went to help my friend upgrade her eMachine's memory so that it would run better. It was a 1.8 ghz celeron with 128 MB ram running WinXP... so needless to say, it was having problems with running out of memory... so we went to Office Max and picked up 256 mb of DDR PC2100 memory (this was on sale, so I decided I needed some too... MercX now has 512.. :) ) and headed back to her place to install it. The install went fine, and it was running quite well with the new memory. They want to run Sim City 4 on it so I told her to make sure it has enough video memory.... we looked everywhere I could think of but couldn't find the information.. Finally she calls eMachines and the guy at first tells her it is between 16 and 32, and she kept asking to know exactly what it was... finally I ended up talking to the guy because he wasn't making sense to her... Get this... the video card does not have it's own dedicated memory, nah, it uses the system memory... *erp* No wonder WinXP had so many problems.... *shudder*... cheap computers are not usually good computers people... remember that....

Dinner with my parent's at this Greek restaurant in town... it was good.. I really like this place... mmm.. baklava.. Then we hit Target where I bought The Sims for xBox, so I have stuff to go do now.. plus get ready for tomorrow, I should really do something at some point...

Random..

Since I didn't wake up this morning when I planned to, I am now at least a half hour behind schedule.. wee...

I was thinking while making the bed a minute ago... about pineapple... I know that I eat pineapple (except cooked) but now I'm not sure I like pineapple... just an odd thought I had....

feeling good...

Really, I still feel sickly.. but I don't care anymore... not gonna let it get in the way of my fun... stupid virus can kiss my a... anyway...

So I actually went somewhere last night and hung out with people I've not hung out with before, except one... it was cool. I didn't end up drinking because I already felt strange and didn't think drinking would help, plus I was somewhere I had never been... I dunno... I just lost my desire to drink so I didn't do it... I still had fun though. It was nice to be around people I could actually talk to and not want to kill... always good times...

So tomorrow is the big Wrestlemania party at my place... I still have to go buy supplies and what-not, but the event is ordered so it is a go. There may or may not be a lot of people here... I have invited... *counts* (geez) 10 people... so if they all come, it should be funly cramped here... but that's ok.. as long as people have fun. What is going to be interesting is that it will be an eceltic collection of people... friend's of Bob, friend's of mine, friend's of both, and some guy neither of us really know (have to have one of those...) I wish them luck in parking... *evil laugh*

BROKEN

I'm broken....

brain is mush...

stupidty prevails...

I swear I'm just listening to crappy music to make myself mad....

AHHHHHH

Today...

not bad...

drugs are good... though I still feel kinda crappy, its not as bad as it was... I can at least breathe now.. Jami kept telling me I have SARS (that killer virus).. he's a fun guy..

Weird times are coming, I can tell..... I'm just gonna wait and see....

Hopes for today...

as I embark on another day of work and what-not, I have some hopes to put forth for myself..

I hope Lotus Notes works today...
I hope everything else is working as normal today...
I hope that laptop for 33/38 works today...
I hope that today is a normal, low stress day in which I can get some of my less important, yet still important, work done...
I hope I don't hurt anybody should any of the above not work out...

So that is how I am starting my day today... awake, drugged, and ready to go....

looooooong day...

today was soooo friggen long... gah.... work was hectic again... did I mention that our main file server died on Friday? and that a lot of data was lost and that lotus notes crapped out and the phone kept ringing and ringing?? *sigh* Eric was able to restore a lot of the data though, so he is champs for that. But not everyone's notes would come back... so I spent the morning restoring data folders, etc... and most people came back online, but not everyone... probably looking at more restoring and finally resetups which people will not like at all

Other highlights from today... started when an ink cart from a printer leaked all over... some ink still on my hand and under my finger nail that I could not get out.. I guess it just takes time... then.. Jami calls in sick and he was supposed to work at KC for Nik, so Chad had to go over and I was pretty much alone for tech stuff until Nate got there...

So then I also had to move furniture around today, which I love.... *ahem*... some stupid person keeps rearranging one of the classrooms and that just makes other instructors mad... the only thing we could do is bolt the furniture down, but.. blah.. stupid people...

and also that morning, a very upset student came in a was very not nice to me... i don't like that at all.... I can't magically make a laptop work, I have not the special powers... whatever.... it is working for the moment.. hopefully it will stay that way and he won't come back and kill me....

Then was lunch, which was nice... we ate outside at an undisclosed location... it was great.. but we had to go back..

then in the afternoon some lady came from UNL accounting demanding to see such and such equipment and she was also not nice to me.. again.. somethign I hate... and she stared at me for 10 mins while I fumbled around trying to find stuff in our records.. she made snide comments too.. very unprofessional... finally I asked her if we could have more time.. as it was not working quickly and she was making me nervous... she said.. and I quote... "24 hrs" then took my name and number and left. Nik and I walked around all the classrooms and found the projectors she was looking for.. the worst part was her extreme lack of helpful information for us.. *sigh*..

to top it off, I was at work until 6... but then I went to best buy and got Zelda and life was good.... i guess.. zelda is great though...

I's tired...

Oscar Review...

It seems that the glam and glitter of Hollywood did indeed turn out last night for a "somber" Oscars last night. No red carpet or the parade of stars that we normally see, which I think Steve Martin said best "that will show them!"

I suppose it may not be totally fair for me to do a review of the Oscars as I only watched, in total, about 15 mins of the show. But since this is my blog and I can do whatever I want (ya freedom!) I am going to review it anyway, but trust me, it will be short, unlike the Oscars.

Best Parts:
Steve Martin - As funny as he always his, he was really quite funny last night. He threw zingers and a lot of "Hollywood Elite" and was all around entertaining.
Michael Moore - Mr. Moore is always worth listening to, even if you may have other beliefs than he does, he really does a good job of making people think. I thought the boo-ing part was a bit uncalled for, but what can you do, it is a free country.... isn't it?

Worst Parts:
Everything else, the speeches, the awards, the people... whatever. I am not a fan of the Oscars shows, nor do I really care who is the "best of the best" in Hollywood. I have other things to do with my time, like beat my head against the wall or walk around in a daze.

Rabid Consumerism...

I shouldn't have picked it up... I shouldn't have even gone down that aisle to even look at it... I knew once I held it I was doomed... I went to the store to get a couple shirts.. that's all... but it called to me from across the store and I had to go see it... then it was in my cart and next thing I know it was in my car on its way home with me. Stupid capitalistic society and product changes that make me wants stuff....

But what is it?? You are probably screaming in anguish... and if you are not, well... shame on you... this is supposed to be all suspenseful and what-not and it's not my fault if you can't understand that... read a book every once and awhile.. grow a little, use your brain once and awhile.....

anyway.. I digress... I shall now reveal my needless purchase.... *sigh*
I am now the owner of a brand new, silver......

Gameboy Advance SP

Yes... yes... I already have a gameboy advance and every other freakin gameboy made.. and yes it was pricey.... and yes, I don't really neeed it... but.... I wanted it, so I got it. I'm a good consumer... :) Anyway, I have to go play with it now, so PEACE!

hmm

I don't write much anymore... not sure why.... I still have a lot of things in my head I want to talk about, but when I go to write them down, it's like it's not worth the effort.... who knows...

war is horrible.

Simple statements work best.
