tired

did stuff, came home, tv..

now I'm going to bed. night.

Warm

It is currently a nice 69 degrees outside... I am happy to have the nice weather, but I don't really have any clothes for warmth yet. So I guess I'll have to stick with something that isn't short sleeved but also isn't too heavy. Oh well..

Had fun last night with C-Bob... we got stuff and I got tacos... mmm.. tacos... it was exciting... we played xbox too.

Well, I have another dress fitting today and my brother is having his open house, so I should probably go get ready and eat and stuff. Peace.

Oh yea, and the finger is much better now, I think it will heal on it's own. I stabbed it yesterday and I think that will take care of the problem. It doesn't really hurt right now so I think I'm going to live.

grr... stupid finger...

So I apparently did something to the middle finger on my left hand as it has been throbbing with pain on and off since last night. It started hurting a bit before that but not like now. I will spare you the details, but it is nice and swollen and some stuff came out of it... (ok.. so you get details anyway).... typing isn't as easy as I would like it to be... I took some aleve, I hope that this will clear up without a visit to the doctor, that really cost me a lot of money the last months... stupid doctors..

Oddity

So I was walking from my car to work this morning and hear off in the distance this chanting type noise. So I become a bit concerned. I look up the sidewalk and here comes this group of people running towards me. I couldn't quite figure out who they were at that time, all I could see was a yellow flag and that there were quite a few of them. So they get closer to me and I figure out they are all wearing army shirts and running. They were chanting too. They all ran past, chanting loudly and then after the passed and went out of site, I heard them all cheering. I think they met up with another group somewhere. It was definitely a different way to start my day. Welp, gotta go work now. Peace.

GDS Update

So I think the guy is actually gone now. He has not been around for a long time. It's weird to not have anyone to stalk... but I guess I have internet now, so that's ok. What's odd is that I think now that he is gone, the heat isn't running downstairs, and thus I am not getting any free heat... so I have to heat my own place.. *sigh*... or air condition it as I tired to do earlier... that was dumb.

I have to really pull myself into work again, and really show my worth to the team and the college. I'm not really ready to lose that job, so I need to be as productive and on target as I can be. It's not only for myself, but for my whole team, which depends on each other to make us all look good and worth being around. Budget cuts are awful. Sounds like we are going to have more state funding cut for some positions, it just depends on how much needs to be cut. I just hope we can keep everyone because I would hate for the Dave to have to make any decision about who stays and who might have to go. We have such a great team that any loss would hurt.

Well, that was depressing in sorts so I'm gonna just not blog anymore... I'm tired anyway.

Journal Updated

I have posted a new column to the Quarkstar Journal. Feel free to read it. :)

Gotta blog?

Wanna help someone out with a thesis? This is a suvery she is doing about blogger type ppl... Go Here!

Books

I went to the library today for the first time since moving. I paid off my fines and was able to check out books again. I walked up and down the aisle just looking at titles and picked up four books for varying interest to other people.

1. How to Get Happily Published by Judith Appelbaum. I hope this book will be as useful to me as it sounds.

2. High Five! The Magic of Working Together This seems to be a really dorky management book about working on teams and such.

3. Psychology for Leaders This book had Psychology in the title and I think it is for people that lead. Whatever, I'm going to try reading it.

And last but not least...

4. Facts & Fallacies (no good website found). This is a Reader's Diegest book with strange little stories in it, it looked interesting and could provide good material for my various blog-ish activites.

I will keep you updated.

INTERNET!!!

I have Internet access now... good ol reliable cable modem... and it works. Which is good.

C-Bob came over and I made this baked chili cornbread box mix thing, it was pretty good. I probably could have cooked it longer but we wanted to eat it. I have leftovers too, which is nice.

I think I'm gonna go run some errands.

GDS Update

So Evil G was home most of last night, he made some noise but was otherwise unnoticable. Don't really have much of an update for him. I just need to find someone else to start stalking now. Hmmm..... girl next door updates...... *evil grin*

*shrug*

I made it to work this morning without hurting anyone, which is always good. It is really foggy out and kind of chilly but not cold like it was a couple days ago. It was really nice yesterday, we even ate lunch outside the library on picnic tables.

I had my second fitting for the dress, it is a really nice dress, so I'm not as worried anymore. It's more of a skirt and top type deal. I'm not a big dress wearer by nature, so this is very different for me. I have never had clothes fitted for me before, so that too has been a new experience. It's not that exciting though, it is just how it sounds, me putting on half sewen stuff, her pinning it up. All and all it wasn't so bad. After the fitting I went shopping. I hit Linens N Things, Osco's, and Russ's Market. I also bought some jeans, and looked at some clothing.

I didn't bring my laptop today as I am going to take over the Help Desk starting today, I just need to make some deicions about Notes, etc. I don't have the full client right now because it is not set up on this computer, and I don't know how the sharing thing is going to work, etc.

GSD Update

So I actually made contact with Evil G last night. I went outside to check the weather and he was coming out of his apartment. He said "hi" and told me some interesting information. It turns out that he is in fact moving... so I guess I win? He was telling me that I should park in the driveway after he is gone, which I just might do. I may call and check to make sure that is ok first though. It's a good thing I'm getting Internet and cable tomorrow, otherwise I don't know what I would do with my time now that Evil G is moving out. I'm kind of sad that it is actually happening. Turns out he really is a very nice guy. That bastard. :-)

Last night...

So last night I decided to bring home all my other computer systems from my parents house. It's kind of crazy since I have only one monitor and no KVM switch, currently. I do have separate mice and keyboards for the other systems so that is good. I was going to install Linux on my old AMD K6 166, but it is having some kind of random hardware problem during POST and I didn't want to take the time to troubleshoot it. I will at a later date though. I have a lot of computer related projects on the table right now, I just need to figure out when the best time to work on them is. I think once I get the network up and running, I can get the rest of it going.

I had cocoa puffs for breakfast, they were yummy. Now I am sitting here waiting for Eric to show up with coffee, I want coffee. I had some extra time this morning before work so I cleaned the bathroom sink... I am such an exciting person.

I have been working on this puzzle at home for a week or so now.... I really just want to get it finished so I can actually eat at my table sometime.. that would be nice.

It's getting warm here again, I'm both excited and disappointed. I'm excited about being able to go out without freezing to death, but not so excited about it getting really warm. My problem is that I have a lot of really nice wintery clothes, but not much good clothes for spring and summer. I hate spring and summer clothing because the style out there is getting worse each year. I don't like pastels and I don't like sleeveless shirts. I just want some nice, dark colored, short sleeved shirts. Is that too much to ask for? Apparently....

So yet again someone has called saying they won't be coming in this morning, this time it's the coe lab consultant, which really sucks. That means lucky Jami gets to work in the Coe Computer Center this morning..

Lunch

We ate at B-Dubya-3's for lunch today, it was good. I brought a lunch from home but it is going to just have to sit in the fridge and wait until Weds to be eaten. I smell like ciggie smoke now though... not always the best.

So this group upstairs has been scheduled for elimination in the next round of budget cuts, at least have their state funding cut. What that means is that in order for them to stay afloat, they will have to find outside funding for all of their functions. There are a couple pretty cool people in that office that I would be sad to see go. Others, not so much with the caring. What is interesting though, if they do go, they have this huge office space that would be hella cool for ITS to move into. We would all finally be located in the same office and be out of this stupid, windowless basement. Have to wait and see what happens though, don't want to put the ol' horse before the cart. Budget cuts are scary times, whereas we are sad to see some people go, deep down you are just glad it's not you.

Much Anticipated GSD Update

So I have not seen or heard from Evil G since Thursday night. I hear from C-bob that a second car was in the driveway on Friday but left before I got home from work. His car has not moved all weekend and no noise has been coming from downstairs. I have a few theories on his where abouts...

A. Evil G went on vacation. (This theory is boring though)
B. He was abducted by aliens posing as beautiful women
C. He really does get lost a lot
D. He is only home when I am not home
E. He needed a lot of sleep to make up for all the nights he was gone
F. He died
G. He was relocated by the witness protection program
H. He is just messing with my mind

I'm not sure which theory I believe the most, but it is probably one of those, if not something else.

Mornin!

For all my Austrailian reader's: Happy Labour, Canberra, and Commonwealth Day! Do you guys just have all your holidays on one day, or what? That's cool though, holiday's are great. Unless they are like somber ones, then they are still important but not festive.

Got to work on time, which is good. No frost on the windows and everything is looking good. Not sure when I will transition to my new desk, but at some point. I need coffee, I brought my own cream and sugar so I just need to see if Eric will still let me tap into the coffee flow, as it were.

Got an email from my uncle, that was nice. I still need to reply to it.

Made a huge mess in the microwave making breakfast this morning, apparently if you don't pay attention to cream of wheat, it can flow out of the bowl and all over the microwave. (Actually, I knew this but it sounds better written that way.) Cream of Wheat is one of the hardest things to clean up, I've discovered. Although laundry degregent all over carpet was also very hard to clean up, I mean what do you use? Soap?...

Laundry...

it takes too long.... *sigh*

We went to Lazlo's for dinner tonight. It was good, had the speical, hot roast beef sandwich, it was yummy. Then I had peanut butter pie for dessert. yum.

Then we went to ShopKo and I bought another xBox game, Crazy Taxi 3, and some cookie sheets. Returned some books to the library, and now I am ready to go home.... this is taking forever.

Bejewled...

I just set my all time high for Bejeweled
Final Score: 12,170

So here I am..

visiting the rents and borrowing their internet, it's cool yo. Not much else to say, doing some laundry, watched some tv... chillin. Going out for dinner tonight, not sure where yet. Um.... enough from me. -MGD

Woot

MercX is back up and kicking... as well as it ever did, which is fine by me. And it boots like it should, fast... wooo. I was beginning to think I had shocked the hell out of the motherboard or something, so I reset the CMOS jumper but that didn't fix the hard drive detect problems. So then I pulled out both drives and changed the primary master HD jumper to cable select, which seems to have done the trick. I did not put the other drive back in, but at a later date I plan to move any info off that to the primary drive, then format it and reinstall windows on it, then use that as a master drive. Then move the data of the huge drive to that one, or burn it to CDs, and format that and have clean storage space for all my ... um... documents...

I'm just happy it's working again and I don't have to spend all day working on it like I feared would happen.
Peace!
Master GD

cold... so very cold...

it's freakin cold outside... and this dumbass that lives two doors down parked in the spot ive always parked in since i got here.... (so maybe she used to park there all the time.. what do i care.. she's in the spot i want and I had to park in the crappy ass one.... grrrrrr)...
