How is it I can sleep all day and still be tired?

Thanks C-Bob for the mass IMs, quite entertaining... if not a bit worrisome... sorry last night didn't pan out...

We got a lot of snow last night, like ... 5 inches or so... I haven't really seen it, but this is what I hear..

TV is still dumb.... watching the movie blank check right now, interesting movie, I wish I had a million dollars

Almost lunchy time!

I am ready for lunch.. how about the rest of you?? Today is the traditional ITS lunch outing a go-go... so in due time I will be off eating Yia-Yia's pizza and watching people play pool.... mmm.. pizza. Yia-Yia's is the best pizza place in Lincoln, imo... they can make just about any pizza you want, by the slice. They have like 5 different sauces, different cheeses, and toppings like crazy. They even have artichoke and broccoli. It's a very thin crust pizza and very tasty. Plus they have the best cheesy bread stuff, yum.

So I played with net meeting for the first time today. It is an interesting program, I can see some potiental uses. It is fun to control someone else's computer, I got to do that. :)

I'm somewhat awake now.... I could really just sleep for hours and hours still, but I can't.. I have to go to work.... *sigh*

Home!

I am at home! I not only left on time.. but 10 mins early from work today! Rock! I think a nap would be good... I had a day of stupid... my brain only half worked today....

still trying to get this printer back together..... thanks to Nate the screw is actually working now, I stripped it out and it wasn't working.. frustrating.... now I just need to get it back together.... stupid printer...

Fixed a printer this morning with a little bit of knowledge and a little bit of shear dumb luck... lol... but that's all good.. probably going to go fix another one here.. so I can get that done. Plus I have to write up these policies soon, avoiding them isnt going to fly anymore... stupid policy writing, it sucks.

Not sure what to do about lunch... not really feeling like going anywhere, but I wouldn't mind eating. One of the guys called in sick so I won't be doing the half day thing after all.... oh well, it was a nice thought.

Observations..

Sometimes before I get down to work, I puruse the web and read what people are saying in other blog's, esp. of people I use to talk to a lot but have fallen out of contact with. I am noticing something... there seems to be some kind of full group depression or self-evaluation process going on. I have read it from more than one person, that they don't think they are doing what they want to be doing. That they are unhappy or overly upset or going insane. I think we are all psychological damaged now. I think there is a lot of fear about the unknown and fear to actually keep going sometimes. I know I have that problem. But I am going to keep going, one day at a time, one step at a time if that's what it takes. I know now that I need people in my life, even if it sometimes makes me uncomfortable, it's worth it in the end. It takes effort for me to get up and leave the house and do the things I have to do in life. I am doing it though, because what other choice do I have? I can't hide and never go out because who wants that kind of life?

It's a peaks and valleys kind of life I lead. Things get really bad, really low and then things settle. Things settle and then I am able to pull myself up and get back up there and it is good. I can feel good about doing things. But then something happens, a news report, a threats of unknown kinds. And I get scared, I am human, what am I supposed to do? So down again I go into my valley and it takes a longer time to get back up again each time I'm knocked down. But I have to keep going, I have to find a way to get over the fear and go on with life. What else can I do? What can anyone do?

It's good to get things out in the open, pent up things can create even more problems. It is hard to share though, because everyone wants to seem perfect, but no one is. (Maybe that's just me though, but it's just something I have to deal with)

I am now at work.... and I left my lunch at home.. :(
It was a really nice peanut butter and jelly (grape) sandwich, some sun chips (harvest chedder) and a banana, the world's most perfect lunch, and it is sitting.. all alone.... at home...

I may make today a short day and go home at noon. I think a little afternoon xbox may improve my mood a bit. Been having problems with headaches recently, so I'm pretty sure something is trying to eat my brain.... like space monkeys.....

and I swear I'm being tracked by someone....

So I made some minor minor tweaks to the template so now the date thing isn't all stupid... only mildly stupid.... I will probably start really fooking around with it at some point, once I really understand the code and what not...

Inventing words..

So I am tired of all the old words I have to use all the time, so I have decided to come up with new words.... this could be a good column once I get a lot of words down.. but for now, a little preview of GD's new word number one....

Yodder - noun, (pronounced yo-der) a person or persons with an eschew outlook on life. Usually quite witty, very sarcastic and otherwise humorus in nature. Example: He is such a yodder, those comments he made about Bush were funny.

Went to Doozy's for lunch, ( a local sandwich place that has no webpage, for shame)... had the pizza doozy, sun chips and a diet coke.. it was yummy.

So now I am sitting here ready for a nap... I'd love to just go home now but I guess it doesn't really matter one way or the other. If I went home I would just waste the time anyway. I still have to come up with a column for tonight, so I have that to look forward to.

Ye olde office mate is coming in this afternoon, so I should be fine for getting of work today on time... which would be nice.... I'm ready for lunch but I have to wait... I don't like waiting.. :)

It's Quiet... Too Quiet...

My office mate isn't here today, I assume he is out sick, he wasn't looking so great yesterday. My guess is that he emailed the big cheese who isn't here today so the message won't get passed on. We are short one two-way radio (since another co-worker accidentally took one home) so it should be fun today. I'm going to pretty much be camped out in the office today, as someone has to man the walk-up and phone help desk. I don't mind though, it's nice and quiet and I can get some stuff done, probably.

People are meeting in the front room, which is odd since I'm not used to people being out there, other than one of the technicians. It's good to see the area used though, hate to think we are wasting space.

Well, I best get back to work, or take a nap, or something.. :)

Call me super cool...

So guess what I forgot today but remembered when I got home??... (hint:think light switch)... that's right! light bulbs won't replace themseleves during the day and work when you get home.... *sigh*.... turns out we have exactly 2 bulbs left, so the hallway got one and I got one (my room takes two, but ive only had one for so long that I think if I did put two new ones in my eyes would explode). So I have light in my room again, which is nice.

Had a nice chicken sandwhich for dinner, I loved pre-baked frozen stuff... honey mustard chicken, 2 mins in the microwave.. mmm... added some instant cheezie mashed taters and it was a good meal. Bananas too, I love bananas...

I need to get my article written, I think I know the topic, just need to get it written. It is good practice and hopefully people will like reading them.

Got a CD in the mail that I forgot I had ordered, heh, it's for this boston band called Averi that I heard on line and really liked, so I bought their CD. I wonder what they thought of sending a CD to nebraska, they are a local band there, so it may have been strange. But then again, one never knows. I think I will use this CD for my first review. That gives me something to write about.

This is a good way to warm up to writing my column since it gets my hands working and my ideas flowing, I will have to remember that. Ok, time to write! :)

No Good Title

*sigh* I'm not getting off on time... again... today..... I was going to leave at 4:30 but that's not going to happen considering my co-worker just left for another building and I'm the only one here...

Guess I'll go figure out why .Net framework install went all crazy in the other room, and maybe actually install the freeze software so it will be unbreakable in the future.. stupid computers... stupid windows...

Video taping fun at work...

So it is official, I really do do a little bit of everything around here, which is cool, cuz sometimes it's fun. Like today, I got to video tape a professor's lecture and then I'm going to edit it so they can use it in an online distance education class... so that's cool.

It was nice to get a break from inventory, but now I'm ready to go home and it's only 3:30ish, only one more hour. I guess I will live. Turns out those guster tickets just aren't available for sale yet, so there is still plenty of hope. I figured it would be odd not to be able to get some. I need those tickets. :)

Not much else to say right now, really have to go back to work. *stares at wall for an hour*

Just got back in from taking care of some "surplus" equipement out by the dumpsters... toner carts are fun when you smash them against the ground... woooooo..... its a good release.. although my hands are cold now and hurt.. Jamie was my accomplice though, so he is partialy to blame... :)

So I let the car run for 20 mins and I still had to scrape the stupid frost/ice off. See my car is great, only the top half of the re-defrost strips work, so it melts and freezes as ice below.. it's fun....

It's really really cold outside, brrrr, the temp right now is 19 degrees with a windchill of 6... it's been colder but below about 20 degrees, it stops mattering. I wore my warmest coat, which is not all that warm, but I don't want to buy a new coat this late in the season, maybe next winter...

Guess what I learned this morning after grumbling about no lights in my room?? The light in the hallways is burnt out too!! Yippie!! So I couldn't even use that to get light into my room, which would have been helpful. So I don't have a watch on right now because I couldn't find it, and it was dark, so I gave up.

I need to get the new column up today, I may try to do that over lunch, but if not I will do it after work..

I'm not feeling well right now, but I'm hoping it's just a monday thing and nothing more.... on another note, *looks around* I hope my co-workers are showing up today... cuz I hate when they don't.

Ugh... it's too early.. way too early... I need to get out of this room and moving so I'm not late to work and stuff.... stupid morning.

So, as predicted, I've spent all morning whining cuz I have no lights, every few minutes I go to turn them on and the realize, oh yea, they don't work... stupid light bulbs..

So I was on guster.com today and read a post about tickets to the show in kansas and how you can't find any, and guess what? You can't. :( Not sure what that means.... probably just a glitch (one can hope)... not even via ticketmaster (the spawn of satan) *sigh*

Time to go melt my car and get to work...

I love ebay, just do a search for "junk" and you will find a lot of cool stuff... Ill post anything really cool here if I find something.
