Installing Lotus Notes on a Mac, part 2
I decided to do a test install of the new 8.5 client on a coworkers MacBook before moving ahead with end user installs. I have to note that I am using a custom installation package that I got from our Notes team so there might be variations on what other people are using.
This MacBook had never had Lotus Notes on it and my coworker really has no need to run it on his MacBook. The installation went flawlessly but seemed to take a little bit of time to fully finish. I didn't even have to do a design refresh/replace for the Lotus Notes 8 features to be available so I wonder if that is part of the custom install pack.
I pulled his ID file down off the server where it is stored and the setup ran fine. No weird file permission problems, no 'file not found' problems - just a nice clean install.
I wonder if this will hold true for doing an upgrade from 7.02 to 8.5, which is my next attempt.
